Watermelon Tart! (tutorial)
Look at it closely! It looks like some kind of cake or tart right? but it’s not. It’s actually a watermelon cut into the shape of a cake with yogurt, strawberries, blueberries and nuts on top!
This is perfect for like an outdoor BBQ or Fourth of July! In the summer heat this must be like heaven?!
I made this lovely drink before my blindfolded meditation. Meditations are usually advised to be done on an empty stomach, but I was already starving and didn’t want my grumbling stomach to be of a destraction. The solution?
- 1 medium red beet
- 1/2 an orange
- 2 medium stalks of celery
- 1 large carrot
The color alone makes me drool. A perfect mid-afternoon pick-me-up. Enjoy!
Day 42 and only 8 days to go! Here were my favorite juice recipes throughout this journey-
APPLE PARSNIP
3 Gala apples
3 Green apples
1 Parsnip
2-3 handfuls of spinach
RISE & SHINE
2 Ruby red grapefruits
3-4 TangelosGREEN REFRESHER
1 Large handful of kale/chard
2 Green…
These sound so yummy!
Going to throw this out there in case any of my followers want to join me:
I’m almost done with this semester of school and will be getting some time off as a bit of a mental break, and I’m going to use this time to juice fast! In other words, all I’m going to eat (er, drink) are fruits and veggies in juice form. I will be starting the fast on November 10th, the day after my semester ends. I’m planning on doing this for at least 30 days, though depending on how things go I might go longer. We’ll see! This day is also really convenient to most people since it lands on a Saturday and you will be able to use the weekend days to “ease into” the juicing norm.
Just wanted to let you guys know in case you were interested in doing the same with me, sort of like a buddy system. I don’t usually eat a lot of “holiday food” in November, so November is the ideal month for me to start this because I won’t have school stress or holiday-food-binge-temptations! Especially because I don’t start craving Christmas goodies until it’s around Christmas week, so I’ll have plenty of time to focus myself on this detox.
I’ve done lots of research on this for quite awhile, and if you’re curious about what juice fasting actually is about I would recommend watching the documentary Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead. Feel free to inbox me if you’re interested in buddying up or have any questions! Happy juicing! :)
